Tatiana Maida

Born and raised in Bolivia, I moved to the United States in 2002, where I have strived to fulfill my personal mission to mobilize change toward equity, belonging, and healing. Following that commitment, for the past 15 years, I have focused my leadership and advocacy efforts on transformative policy and systems change, including meaningful inclusion of the community's voice in decision-making. 
 

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, I worked for several nonprofit organizations dedicated to serving rural, indigenous communities in Bolivia. Later, in 2002 when I moved to the United States, I did some initial journalism in Los Angeles and Milwaukee, before moving towards Health Education and Public Health.

 

I have worked for healthTIDE since 2022 as the Director of Equity and Community Partnerships. leading with my team a variety of efforts to support organizations to deepen their understanding and practice of equity, genuine community engagement, and community-driven systems change.

Prior to healthTIDE, I worked for over a decade at Sixteenth Community Health Centers, Wisconsin's largest Federally Qualified Health Centers, where I developed and directed the Healthy Choices/ Obesity Department, a model that combined comprehensive family education with community leadership as tools to transform Milwaukee’s southside nutritional and physical activity environment. 
 

I have also had the honor to serve on several Boards and Councils, and in 2019, Governor Tony Evers appointed me to serve in the Wisconsin Public Health Council, where I was able to elevate community needs and perspectives, as well as lead efforts to increase the diversity in the Council.

My hope is to continue growing and using my skills and experience for the creation of a healthier and more just world for everyone.
