State Partnerships Director, Co-Founder

She/Her

Since 2012, with many partners, I have had the opportunity to be a part of building healthTIDE since its inception. As a Co-Founder and State Partnerships Director, I'm focused on supporting multisector partnerships and 'connecting dots' by aligning resources and building connections between people and organizations to create policy, systems, and environment changes. I believe in utilizing collective action, collaboration, and systems thinking as tools in this work.

I'm a registered dietitian with formal training in public health. I earned a Bachelor's degree from Viterbo University in Community-Medical Dietetics and a Master's in Public Health from the University of Minnesota. I have spent the past 24+ years working in the public health prevention field. With experience locally and statewide, I have had the opportunity to work for the Ho-Chunk Nation Tribal Health Department and with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services’ Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity Program. Additionally, I have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating public health interventions to prevent obesity and food insecurity, especially in food systems and nutrition in early childhood, school, and community settings. I'm actively involved in Healthy Early, the Great Lakes Intertribal Food Coalition, and the Association of State Public Health Nutritionists.

On a personal note, my energy is restored by being outside and in nature. I enjoy kayaking, playing tennis or pickleball, and hiking. My family and I live in DeForest, Wisconsin, where we have excellent access to trails for biking and walking! My family has a goal of visiting at least one national park per year; we've made it to 15 so far! I also enjoy cheering my two sons on with the sports and activities they are involved in!
